Speech

Speech Is Instinctive, and Found Only In Humans

To believe that speech evolved over time is just that….belief. In order for speech to occur, many complex and inter-related parts must be present. They must be present “from the beginning”, and not just “show up” later. The brain must be designed for speech; the mouth must be designed to move in various ways to produce proper “sound”; the voice-box must be in the proper location in the throat to allow air to move through it to vibrate and make sound waves; the many complex muscles in the tongue must be able to follow the brains’ signals needed to form words; breath control must allow for the air to move through the voice-box at the proper time. This is a very simple explanation of speech. The other part of speech, of course, is hearing, and all the complex parts necessary for the reception of sound, and the “processing” of the sound waves. All the inner workings of the sound-processing elements (inner ears) must be present (and made in a mirror image on the other side of the skull) to operate properly. After all, why would we have speech without a way to decipher it?

Watch an infant as the weeks go by, and you will see how the brain is causing various movements of the mouth and tongue, in preparation for speech. All the cute and sweet sounds an infant makes are part of the design from our Creator. Evolution has no answer as to where or how all this “evolved”. That, of course, is because it didn’t. ~
