Volume 2
Poland, con’d
Our missionaries to Poland, Rich and Lori McLane, are also planning a “creation road trip” to a dozen churches throughout the nation. They understand this is fundamental to reaching their culture. Right now Poland faces a critical crossroad. Historically the nation is over 98% Catholic but many, if not most, of the next generation has no interest in the rituals and traditions of Catholicism. Instead they are throwing off all belief in God and rapidly embracing materialism as the nation merges into the European Union. Although the nation has shed atheistic communism, evolution is still the only origins explanation taught in their school system. Meanwhile, the Church simply blends “evolution and millions of years” into their doctrinal beliefs. The younger generation comprehends the inconsistency in that this places God directly responsible for human death/ disease and makes a myth of Adam and Eve. As a result, all of Christianity becomes a fairy tale in their minds. I spent almost 8 hours sharing the evidence for creation to over a dozen future pastors at the Warsaw Bible College. They became increasingly enthusiastic and agitated as the presentations built – one upon another. One future pastor said, “This makes me so mad. Why haven’t I been told these things before? This is SOOO important! We have to share this with others.” Another said, “I finally understand how to reconcile the teachings of the Bible with the error of being taught the earth is so old. The flood of Noah is a key to everything.” They wanted all of my PowerPoint slides for future reference. Their enthusiasm was a great encouragement and as pastors they will share what they have learned with thousands of others. Many books, DVD’s, and CD’s were left with the students and staff along with permission to reproduce materials and translate them into Polish. Your ministry support made this possible and we are planning a return trip in 2009. In addition, the donations from only 95 ministry supporters have made it possible to give away over 2500 books, DVDs and audio CDs through the first quarter of 2009.
